# Open Ontology > Open Ontology is an experimental (v0.1) language for domain models, built to be written by agents and owned by people. TypeScript and Forma compile to one portable JSON IR; actions and Datalog queries run on a local in-memory Triplex runtime. No npm release yet: clone https://github.com/bjacobso/open-ontology and run `pnpm install --frozen-lockfile`, then `pnpm check`. If you are an agent modeling a domain for someone, read the agent guide first. It is one plain-text file with the full grammar, a modeling procedure, the check command, the runtime semantics and the limits, and it is tested against v0.1. ## Docs - [Agent guide](https://open-ontology.com/llms-full.txt): everything needed to write, check and run a model - [README](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/bjacobso/open-ontology/main/README.md): install, scripts and package boundary - [Architecture](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/bjacobso/open-ontology/main/docs/architecture.md): TypeScript/Forma → IR → Triplex adapter - [Git libraries](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/bjacobso/open-ontology/main/docs/git-libraries.md): bundled /std/git and /github vocabularies, imports and provider extension ## Examples - [Support desk](https://github.com/bjacobso/open-ontology/tree/main/examples/support-desk): create, clear+set, references, relations, negation, ordering, aggregates - [Field service](https://github.com/bjacobso/open-ontology/tree/main/examples/field-service): the same model in TypeScript and Forma, checked for identical IR - [GitHub](https://github.com/bjacobso/open-ontology/tree/main/examples/github): shared Git graph, forks, dependencies, cross-fork PRs and issue references ## Source - [IR types](https://github.com/bjacobso/open-ontology/blob/main/src/ir.ts): the portable JSON contract - [Model checker](https://github.com/bjacobso/open-ontology/blob/main/scripts/check-model.ts): `pnpm model:check `, located errors and lint - [Runtime](https://github.com/bjacobso/open-ontology/blob/main/src/runtime.ts): actions → Triplex transactions, named Datalog queries ## Community - [Discord](https://discord.gg/cjW4gxsdXK): questions, modeling help, and roadmap discussion
